What is a Registered Dietitian?

Danielle Van Schaick

Danielle is a private practice dietitian with a strong background in health, nutrition and fitness.  She holds an Applied Human Nutrition Degree from the University of Guelph and successfully completed a Dietetic Internship with Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA).

Registered as a Dietitian (RD), Danielle has studied the human body and is considered one of Canada’s leading experts in food and nutrition. She offers one-on-one nutrition counseling to individuals, families, and groups.

Danielle is a Certified Fitness Trainer through the internationally recognized American Council on Exercise (ACE), and an active member of Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.

Danielle lectures on various nutrition topics and makes regular media appearances, both local and internationally. She has most recently been invited to speak at University of Victoria, Healthy Schools Conference, Government Ministries, Local Community Centres, as well as many private engagements.

Media interviews include a regular show on CBC Radio, and appearances on CFAX Radio, A-Channel Television, Chatelaine Magazine, Canadian Living Magazine, MSN Canada, News Group, The University of Victoria Martlet and The Times Colonist Newspaper.


Anneke Vink, B.Sc, RD

Anneke attended Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and after graduation, moved to Victoria to pursue her career in dietetics.

Anneke believes strongly in the power of education and interactive learning, and is a dynamic nutrition eduator. She has assisted many clients with diverse conditions and concerns such as IBS, Diabetes, weight loss, sports nutrition, and many others.

Anneke lectures on various nutrition topics and makes regular media appearances, both local and internationally. She has most recently been invited to speak at The University of Victoria, Rehabilitation Professionals Network, Canadian Forces Food Service Conference, Royal Roads University, Government of British Columbia, as well as many private engagements.

Media interviews include a weekly column on CBC Radio, and appearances on Shaw TV and CFAX Radio, in Chatelaine Magazine, Canadian Living Magazine, and Readers Digest Best Health Magazine.

Anneke is a member of the BC Gerontological Nutrition Society, Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, and is certified in HACCP Food Safety Procedures.
